Whitehaven town centre is looking lovely this morning, with gorgeous blossom glowing brightly outside of St Nicholas Church as the spring sunshine brings about mood enhancing colours to all passers by.
- St. Nicholas Church was originally built in 1693. It was rebuilt in 1883 as the congregation grew. A fire on 31st August 1971 destroyed the church except the clock tower and main entrance.
There is no glory in star or blossom till looked upon by a loving eye; There is no fragrance in April breezes till breathed with joy as they wander by.William Cullen Bryant
