This is picture #3 of a weekly Photo Challenge that I set myself – there is no particular theme. The challenge is to get myself outside and to simply take photographs.
For the challenge this week, I decided to take a selfie with my phone, while out walking. The lens flare was added later, with Photoshop.
Most selfies are taken for vanity reasons, and are usually quite flattering – but I wanted to hide my ugly mug, and decided that using a silhouette style would suit that purpose perfectly. Hopefully it has worked. Lol.
Did you know? the worlds first selfie was allegedly taken by a Robert Cornelius – he was was an American pioneer of photography and a lamp manufacturer. In 1839, he produced a Daguerreotype of himself, which is one of the very first images of a person.
Marin Cilic: Selfies became too big. The selfie photos are not good. Fans ask me for a selfie, and I say, ‘Let’s just do a photo.’ I’m not anti-selfie, but I like a classic photograph.
